All VRC lifts go up and down, but what you do not know and cannot see may change your opinion on what you buy. There are other brands, cheaper and lower quality lifts available. Some of these may require frequent replacement of parts or more maintenance down the road. These lifts will not provide you the cost efficiencies you will need to make a profit from your investment. Given the method in which our lifts have been professionally designed, manufactured, delivered and installed, our customers can rest assured that the AJAY Storage Lifts they purchase will be cost effective and fully constructed from start to finish for superior overall reliability for many years to come.
Many other VRC lift companies ship their units completely unassembled. This leaves the entire assembly at the mercy of jobsite personnel...and we've all seen what those shovels that stand up on their own right? Without knowing how much experience they may or may not have, they will have to attempt to meet all of the manufacture's critical assembly tolerances on site in order to provide a quality built lift.
Other types of VRC lifts have a “ladder frame” or “I-beam post” design. This design is structurally less stable and requires structural building for support.
The installation company is required to add structural members which must be attached to your building walls. This will require your architect to design an additional support structure, adding material and labor cost for your contractor to build your typical metal or wood frame storage building.
Some VRC Lifts have a height limiting six to seven foot overhead support bar assembled across the top of the platform or a height limiting car height of only 7 feet. This, in most cases, makes it difficult to load tall items onto the platform, like refrigerators or a couch.
Some lift manufacturers also require a "penthouse" or raised roof section to be installed above the lift for servicing and maintenance access.
Various VRC lift manufacturers designed their lifting drive motors, cables and pulleys to be mounted on top of the unit. This makes maintenance and repairs complicated and much more expensive!
Many of our competitor lifts use two double acting hydraulic cylinders which are pressurized in both directions. This bi-directional cylinder design uses the motor to both raise and lower the platform. Not only does our competitor’s design put extra wear on the motor and cylinder parts, but it also requires many more parts to run two bi-directional cylinders.
With our competitors, each cylinder has 2 packing kits which amounts to 4 total packing kits per lift. Consequently, these extra wear parts will prove to be costly in the long run when additional maintenance is required.
Some Brand X lifts may even require special concrete pier type footings.
Just a mess, self explanatory.
Not only does the location of the motors and cables make these lifts difficult to repair, but over time, the cables that are utilized in these lifts will stretch, fray and need regular wear adjustments (hence all of the cable clamps). This design utilizing cables and pulleys invokes an irregular stretch of the cable, ultimately causing it to fray or even break under many circumstances.
